Green Bell Peppers – EXTREME Market Conditions

Green bell pepper supplies are very light out of Mexico this week, with mixed quality driven by weather challenges and insect pressure. Florida supplies remain extremely short due to recent freeze losses, pushing markets significantly higher. Expect continued volatility through mid‑April.

Color Bell Peppers – ESCALATED Market Conditions

Colored bell peppers continue to face lighter volumes from Mexico, as cooler weather and insect pressure reduce yields. Florida is also seeing very limited supply following last month’s freeze. Markets are expected to stay high and volatile through April, though hot house pepper volume may increase in upcoming cycles, offering some potential relief in the weeks ahead.

Industry‑Wide Pressure

Overall vegetable markets—including bell peppers—remain tight as cool weather in Mexico and the Florida freeze continue to impact production. Additional pressure from supply chain challenges, such as limited equipment, driver delays, and transportation shortages, is contributing to ongoing instability. Growers in Florida have issued Act of God Declarations on several commodities, including bell peppers.
