Carrots
Bell Peppers

Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
West Coast carrot supplies remain limited as production transitions from the Bakersfield region to the Imperial Valley. Recent wet and foggy conditions in Bakersfield negatively impacted crops, forcing growers to begin harvesting in the Imperial Valley nearly a month earlier than planned. As a result, carrots have had less time to size up, and shippers are allocating orders to slow harvesting and allow crops to mature.
Supplies are expected to remain tight for the next 3–4 weeks while warmer, drier weather helps improve crop sizing. In Georgia, recent freeze conditions also impacted growing areas. Although growers were able to replant additional acreage, improved supply from those plantings is not expected until April.
Pricing remains under upward pressure due to limited availability. An extended lead times are to be expected, so early ordering is strongly recommended while supplies remain tight.

Thanks,
