Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
The Salinas Valley growing region is expected to be hit with it's first storm this Sunday lasting until Tuesday. This storm will bring up to an inch of rain.
Industry-wide, this rain will limit supplies of lettuce, romaine, green leaf, broccoli, and cauliflower as well as diminish the quality and shelf lives.
Expectations:
- Little to no harvest on Monday & Tuesday
- Slow harvest early next week due to muddy conditions
- Excessive mud/dirt on product & box
- Continued quality issues including mildew will decrease yields.
- Shippers enforcing averages across the board going forward.
If you have any questions, please reach out to your Sales Representative.
Thanks,
Ole Tyme Produce
