Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Weather Alert:

We have another ice delay this morning in Yuma. Some shippers today will not start harvesting until 11am.

Expectations:

Less product hitting the coolers with later harvest times and shorter daylight hours
Some harvest crews not starting until 11am today.
Quality issues in the next few weeks will be prevalent with the current frost damage and ice delays this week.
For the next few weeks, expect blister, epidermal peel, and freeze burn on leaf and lettuce.
Shelf life and texture will be affected after these freezing temperatures, especially on tender leaf items.
Expect lighter weights as harvesters will peal back the outer leaves to clean up quality in the fields.
