Dear Ole Tyme Customers:
STRAWBERRIES
- Salinas & Watsonville: Volumes continue to decline as we approach the end of the month. Warmer weather may increase quality issues, and growers anticipate some crop loss this week due to softer, fully-colored fruit.
- Santa Maria: New crop harvest has started. Initial volume is light but expected to increase steadily. Early quality is good, with further improvements anticipated.
- Markets: A two-tiered market is developing, with increased demand for the higher-quality new crop fruit from Santa Maria. Overall availability is tightening as retail and foodservice demand picks up.
BLUEBERRIES
- Production: The Pacific Northwest, Michigan, Oregon, and New Jersey continue to ship, providing ample supply options.
- Markets: Demand remains moderate with stable pricing.
BLACKBERRIES
- Supply: Demand still exceeds supply. Oregon’s harvest is underway, and Mexico’s volume is projected to increase by mid-August.
- Markets: Limited supply.
RASPBERRIES
- Supply: Availability remains inconsistent from both Mexico and California’s west coast.
- Markets: Demand is increasing. Some suppliers expect further market activity as schools begin returning across the U.S.
