Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Honeydew supplies have significantly decreased due to crop failures in Central America caused by Tropical Storm Sara in November. Despite efforts to manage the situation, including adjusting sizes and substituting variety melons, the supply has now reached critical levels.

Force Majeure Declared: Starting Monday, no new honeydew shipments are expected, and orders will continue to be prorated. Limited supply may arrive in small amounts over the next three weeks, requiring customer cooperation.
Industry-Wide Issue: We urge you to adjust expectations, as this is affecting the entire industry.
Action Plan: To manage the shortage, customers are encouraged to focus on seedless watermelons, which are readily available from Florida, as a substitute for honeydews in fresh-cut operations and sales.
