Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

Melon Market Update: Transition & Weather Impact

Westside California melon production is winding down, with suppliers wrapping up remaining inventory. Domestic melons are expected to begin shipping from Brawley, CA and Yuma, AZ by the end of this week.

Rainfall during the week of October 13 in California has led to discoloration and dirt spotting on melons, though Brix levels remain strong.
Harvest delays are occurring due to low yields and weather-related field conditions.
Initial volumes from Brawley and Yuma are limited and being held for contractual commitments.
Mexican cantaloupe and honeydew are starting to enter the market, but availability remains light.
