Dear Ole Tyme Customers:

A nationwide protest across Mexico-driven by farmers and truck drivers-has intensified again today, creating major disruptions throughout the supply chain. Demonstrators are calling for improved highway safety, an end to cargo theft/extortion, fair freight rates, stronger crop pricing, and the repeal of newly proposed water-law reforms.

As a result, cross-border freight movement is heavily delayed, and several commodities are already seeing tightening supply.

Current Impact

Significant delays reported at key border crossings, including Nogales, AZ; McAllen/South Texas; and Baja.
Roadblocks on major transportation corridors are severely restricting truck flow across multiple regions in Mexico.
Cross-border volume is expected to remain extremely light throughout the week unless government action is taken.
Early shortages are beginning to show on sensitive items, such as yellow squash, with more categories tightening.
